What the organiser says
Until Wednesday 2 September 2026 you do the transfer yourself online: log in to your Active account at myevents.active.com/MaxAdventure, select your Coastal Classic registration and transfer it by email to the replacement runner. It only completes once they claim it and pay the entry fee current at the time of claiming ($180 on the late-entry rate); you are then refunded to your original card less a $20 admin fee, so the fee comes off your side and no money passes between you. Note the gap — if you entered at $160 you are refunded $140 while they pay $180, and the event does not pass you the difference. After 2 September the only route is a race-morning transfer at the Transfers/Course Changes desk at Otford registration, 7:15am–8:15am on 5 September: $40 cash, the replacement brings your written approval and your bib number, is issued a new bib, and the two of you settle the entry fee privately. Entries sold out on 8 August 2026 and a waitlist is running. Transfers are to another person for this race only — there is no deferral to a future or different event.
Late transfers
Race-morning transfers happen at the Transfers/Course Changes desk at registration outside Otford Primary School, open 7:15am–8:15am on 5 Sep 2026 — the replacement runner has to be there inside that hour. They must bring an email plus the registration details from the original entrant approving the transfer, and know the original bib number, but do NOT collect the original bib: a new number is issued at the desk. $40 admin fee, cash preferred. Nothing is refunded through Active in this phase, so the two runners settle the entry fee between themselves. It runs to 5 September 2026.
