Races that don't allow bib transfers
These events don't permit an entry to be moved to another runner, so they aren't listed on BibSwap and never will be. Selling or swapping a bib for one of these races breaches the event's terms and can get both of you disqualified — we publish them here so you know before you go looking.
TCS Sydney Marathon
Can you transfer a Sydney Marathon entry to someone else?
No. Sydney Marathon entries are non-refundable and non-transferable — that covers name changes, deferrals to the following year, and downgrades to a shorter distance. Selling or exchanging an entry or bib number is explicitly prohibited, and both runners can be disqualified and barred from future events.
The policy tightened when Sydney joined the Abbott World Marathon Majors, which brought it into line with Boston, London, Tokyo, Chicago, Berlin and New York. Deferrals are considered case by case for medical reasons with supporting documentation, and there is a separate Defence Force deferral policy. Contact the event directly — there is no runner-to-runner option.

City2Surf (Sydney)
Can you sell or transfer a City2Surf entry?
No. Sydney City2Surf entries are non-transferable and the event does not process name changes. Every runner must be registered under their own name as a condition of entry, and passing your bib to someone else is not permitted under any circumstances.
If you can't make the start line, contact the event team at city2surf@theironmangroup.com to talk through your options. Note that the Northern Territory City2Surf is a separate event and does allow transfers — don't read one policy as the other.
