Races that don't allow bib transfers
These events don't permit an entry to be moved to another runner, so they aren't listed on BibSwap and never will be. Selling or swapping a bib for one of these races breaches the event's terms and can get both of you disqualified - we publish them here so you know before you go looking.
TCS Sydney Marathon
Can you transfer a Sydney Marathon entry to someone else?
No. Sydney Marathon entries are non-refundable and non-transferable - that covers name changes, deferrals to the following year, and downgrades to a shorter distance. Selling or exchanging an entry or bib number is explicitly prohibited, and both runners can be disqualified and barred from future events.
The policy tightened when Sydney joined the Abbott World Marathon Majors, which brought it into line with Boston, London, Tokyo, Chicago, Berlin and New York. Deferrals are considered case by case for medical reasons with supporting documentation, and there is a separate Defence Force deferral policy. Contact the event directly - there is no runner-to-runner option.

City2Surf (Sydney)
Can you sell or transfer a City2Surf entry?
No. Sydney City2Surf entries are non-transferable and the event does not process name changes. Every runner must be registered under their own name as a condition of entry, and passing your bib to someone else is not permitted under any circumstances.
If you can't make the start line, contact the event team at city2surf@theironmangroup.com to talk through your options. Note that the Northern Territory City2Surf is a separate event and does allow transfers - don't read one policy as the other.

Six Foot Track Marathon
Can you transfer a Six Foot Track Marathon entry to someone else?
No. Six Foot Track is explicit that runners may not transfer or sell an entry, and that under no circumstances may a person start the event assuming the identity of another or without being properly entered. Attempting it gets the entry cancelled and both runners refused future entry.
There is no runner-to-runner option. The race runs its own entry process with qualification criteria and its own cancellation policy, so if you cannot make the start line, deal with the event directly rather than with another runner. Places are allocated by that process, not by resale - which is also why a bib bought privately would never make the start list.

Two Bays Trail Run
Can you transfer a Two Bays Trail Run entry to someone else?
No, and the event has stopped allowing it deliberately. Its own words: “Not anymore. Some people expect they can effectively gift an entry to someone else. Others expect that it is a method of selling their entry to a stranger and that they will be refunded their original entry fee. Too many headaches and differences in expectations.”
Deferral to the following year is the route the event wants you to take, and it is free if you ask early - by mid-November - then on a small sliding scale through to the week before the race. A partial refund is also available on a sliding scale, with nothing refundable in the final days. Both are arranged with the event, not with another runner.

Great Ocean Road Running Festival
Can you give your Great Ocean Road entry to a friend?
No. The festival states that under no circumstance are you permitted to give your bib to another person, and that name changes are strictly not permitted.
What the event does allow is moving yourself between its own distances, or withdrawing. With nine events over the weekend, dropping from the 44km marathon to the 23km half or the 14km is usually the more realistic answer to an interrupted build than giving the entry up. Both are arranged with the event.
