No. Sydney Marathon entries are non-refundable and non-transferable — that covers name changes, deferrals to the following year, and downgrades to a shorter distance. Selling or exchanging an entry or bib number is explicitly prohibited, and both runners can be disqualified and barred from future events.
The policy tightened when Sydney joined the Abbott World Marathon Majors, which brought it into line with Boston, London, Tokyo, Chicago, Berlin and New York. Deferrals are considered case by case for medical reasons with supporting documentation, and there is a separate Defence Force deferral policy. Contact the event directly — there is no runner-to-runner option.
No. Sydney City2Surf entries are non-transferable and the event does not process name changes. Every runner must be registered under their own name as a condition of entry, and passing your bib to someone else is not permitted under any circumstances.
