These terms cover bibswap.com.au and the BibSwap app. By signing in, listing a bib or contacting another runner, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use BibSwap. Questions: hello@bibswap.com.au.
What BibSwap is
BibSwap connects runners in Australia and New Zealand who want to pass on a race entry with runners who want one. We list bibs, relay messages between buyer and seller, and walk you both through the swap.
We are not a party to any swap. We don't take payment, hold money, or transfer entries. The entry moves through the event's own process, and any money passes directly between the two of you. We don't guarantee that a listing is accurate, that a swap will go ahead, or that an event will accept a transfer.
Your account
- You must be 18 or over to use BibSwap.
- Keep access to your email secure - signing in works through it.
- One person per account. Don't sign up or act as someone else.
- You can delete your account at any time from Account in the app, or by emailing us.
Listing a bib
- Only list an entry that is yours and that the event allows to be transferred. We only list races that permit transfers, but the event's rules are the ones that count.
- Describe it honestly: the right race, distance and price. On events that set the price themselves, the event's price applies.
- Take the listing down, or mark it transferred, once it's gone.
Buying a bib
- Confirm the name change with the event, not just with the seller.
- Agree payment timing up front. Use PayID or bank transfer - never gift cards or crypto - and never pay before you're satisfied the transfer is real.
- Only enquire about a bib you genuinely intend to take.
Content and conduct - zero tolerance
Everything you write on BibSwap - listing notes, messages, your handle - must be lawful and respectful. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You must not:
- harass, threaten, bully or abuse anyone, or send hateful, sexual, violent or discriminatory content;
- scam, mislead or defraud anyone, including listing an entry you don't have or asking for payment outside what was agreed;
- send spam or advertise anything other than your race entry;
- post someone else's personal information, or impersonate anyone;
- try to get around the relay, the rate limits or anyone's block, or interfere with how BibSwap works.
Reporting and blocking.You can report any listing ("Report this listing" on the bib page) or email hello@bibswap.com.au. You can block any member from their bib page, or block a runner who enquired from Manage on your listing. A block hides their listings from you and stops messages in both directions; they aren't told.
What we do. We review reports within 24 hours. Where content breaks these terms we remove it, and we suspend or remove the account of anyone who posted it. We may also remove any listing or account we reasonably believe is being used for fraud or abuse, with or without notice.
Messages through the relay
Messages between buyer and seller pass through our relay so your email address stays private until a swap is agreed. We store them so the conversation survives and so we can look into reports and disputes. How we handle your information is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Liability
BibSwap is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from a swap, a listing, a message between members, or an event's decision about a transfer. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act that can't be excluded.
Changes
We may update these terms as BibSwap changes. We'll change the date at the top, and tell you by email if a change is significant. Using BibSwap after a change means you accept the updated terms.
