What the organiser says

Transfers run through EventPlus and the official process is the only permitted route โ€” handing a bib over privately, including on race day, is expressly not allowed. The withdrawing runner logs in to EventPlus, clicks "Summary" in the left-hand menu, hits "transfer" and enters the incoming runner's email; that person must accept within 3 days or the transfer is cancelled. The incoming runner pays a $25 transfer fee to the event. Unlike most races the organisers do NOT handle the entry fee: it is up to the athletes to arrange payment between themselves, so the two of you settle the $475 privately and the seller gets no refund from the organiser. Transport tickets do not transfer โ€” the incoming runner buys new transport at the time of the transfer. Deadline is midnight, 31 March 2027. All 400 places for 2027 sold out the day entries opened, so a transfer is the realistic way in.
